Welcome to Mariaspring!
„Heimvolkshochschule Mariaspring“ is a residential adult education center, certified and acknowledged by the law promoting adult education in Lower Saxony.
Formerly being a popular restaurant with regular evening dancings, Mariaspring today is a place for non formal education for democratic citizenship. We provide seminars, workshops and conferences in the fields of civic education, communication and rhetoric skills, literature and arts, as well as international encounters. Of course, guest events are just as welcome. By request we also develop and carry out seminars for companies, organisations and other groups. Our educational staff stands by your side to develop common seminar concepts.
We offer conference rooms for up to 90 persons, among those are four seminar rooms in different sizes and three group working rooms. All of them are equipped with modern seminar technique such as projectors and laptops, movable walls and moderation material. Apart from that we offer free Wi-Fi.
Lodging
We provide comfortable single and double rooms, which are all equipped with:
- bedlinen and towels,
- hair dryer,
- Wi-Fi-Connection.
Dining
Your nutritional wellbeing is very important to us. That is why our kitchen team places a great emphasis on seasonal and regional products. As well, we take care about a varied, tasteful and balanced nutrition. Vegetarian meals are a daily standard. Of course, we pay regard to your personal dietary requirements.
Please contact our housekeeping manager, Mrs. Grumme (kueche@mariaspring.de) at the week before you arrive, when there are dietary requirements we have to take care of.

Leisure activities and surroundings
For your recreation we kindly recommend our leisure area, where you can play table soccer, mini table tennis or just have a nice conversation with your colleagues or fellow seminar participants at our club room in a cozy atmosphere. Bookworms will have a library with a wide range of novel books, illustrated books, reference books and latest magazines and newspapers.
Our outdoor area is perfect for barbecue evenings and outdoor team activities. You also may use the sports field in the neighborhood.
Mariaspring is situated approximately 10 km from Göttingen, a popular university city. The picturesque landscape surrounding Mariaspring invites you to go for a walk or hike through the forests. Nearby, there is the old castle “Plesse”, where you have a great view over the “Leine-Tal”, the valley along the Leine-river. There you also find a cozy restaurant and café.
